Workshop Q & A

Who will be teaching me?

Jacqueline is a creative, talented soft furnishings designer/creator, with over 20 years of teaching experience. Jacqueline is passionate about soft furnishings and has a wealth of knowledge that she is eager to share.

Is this workshop for me?

Level 1 workshops: Only minimal hand sewing is necessary to make these styles of lampshade. Tailored lampshades require some basic sewing machine experience. Therefore Level 1 workshops are suitable for both the beginner and more experienced, enthusiastic sewer. Jacqueline will build and customise your experience in line with your ability and previous exerience.

Level 2 workshops: Again only minimal hand sewing experience is necessary to make this style of lampshade, however to be successful you will need to have established some basic lampshade making skills. Therefore you will need to have completed at least one of Jacqueline’s Level 1 lampshade making workshops.

Where will I be learning?

Small group workshops are held in Jacqueline’s own workroom in Ebberston, North Yorks.

What's included?

Most lampshade workshops held in Jacqueline’s workroom include a frame, cotton lawn lining, specific workshop notes all specialist sundries, and a light lunch. You will need to bring your face fabric and any additional trimmings you would like to use.
