You will aslo learn how to build sections of face fabric, pleat to the left and/or right for the required fullness for design requirments and balance. How to add a pinch pleated lining, how to cut and prep handmade bias, attaching drop down trimmings, and much, much more …

As well as taking you through the dynamics of this design Jacqueline will show, share and model how this technique can be adapted to oodles of designs. When choosing fabrics for gathered/pleated lampshades, lightweight fabrics work best. Cotton lawn and lightweight silks work a treat. As with all gathered lampshades be brave with patterns as the abundance of gathers breaks up the surface pattern into an array of colour.
