Virtual Dynamics
Gathered/Pleated, All Gathered and Pencil Pleat lampshades have virtual workshop options.
Each workshop consists of 4 lesson/demos. Lesson 1 and lesson 4 have similar content. Lesson 2 and lesson 3 are completely unique to the style of the individual lampshade. Therefore after students have completed one lampshade technique they are invited to work their way through lesson/demos 2 and 3 from other lampshade techniques.
You will be sent a zoom link 24 hours before each zoom lesson. You should be able to click onto the link to join the lesson. During the lesson we also recommend that you have your phone handy so that we can WatsApp should there be any issues with the zoom connection. Each zoom lesson will last 1-2 hours, depending on individual lesson dynamics. We ask that you are available for the full 2 hours so that after the teaching input is completed any questions and queries can be covered and you are confident to complete the following weeks goals. You will be given goals to complete between the lessons so that we can work together in real time on the lampshades during each zoom lesson.

What’s involved?
There is a lot of time involved with zoom lesson/demos. It’s not just about the zoom time. There is a huge amount of pre and post zoom set up in the workroom. Not to mention all the, “here’s something I prepared earlier”, to make your zoom lessons run more smoothly. All 3 techniques follow a similar format.
Lessons 1: Frame overview: lampshade background knowledge, classic style overview, modern/vintage frame dynamics, frame anatomy and prepping/binding your frame
Lesson 2: Face Fabric: style dynamics, prepping, measuring, cutting, pinning, techniques unique to this style
Lesson 3: Lining: style dynamics, prepping, measuring, cutting, pinning, techniques unique to this style
Lesson 4: Trimmings: making a bespoke bias trim, gimbal tides, bias trim dynamics, using drop down trimmings
What’s the Cost?
This is my 1st workshop: You will need to take part in all 4 lessons so that you are able to complete your lampshade from start to completion. The lessons take you through the 4 stages of lampshade making: Frame, Face fabric, Lining and Trimming.
Each Lesson costs£95. Total cost: £380
This is my 2nd or 3rd workshop: You will need to complete lessons 2 & 3.
Each lesson costs £95. Total cost £190
How do I book my place?

What happens if the workshop is cancelled?
Should we have to cancel, we will aim to give you 10 days notice and will rescheduel or fully reimburse you.
